Piers Morgan calls for The View to be canceled over its criticism of Trump

British TV host Piers Morgan has called for The View to be canceled over its presenters slamming Donald Trump.
Morgan, who once worked with Trump on The Apprentice and supported him during the election, claimed the program has become a “pointless, irrelevant, Trump-loathing joke” and urged ABC to cancel its show.
It comes after he previously branded cancel culture “complete lunacy” and “terrible for democracy” and a “form of fascism.”
In his New York Post column on Monday (25 November), Morgan took aim at the show’s hosts, saying: “In my worst nightmares, I find myself trapped on a desert island with the hosts of ‘The View.
“And all day long, I’m subjected to them all snarling, whining, scowling, seething, and cursing about the same thing: Donald Trump. The nightmares are long, torrid, mentally scarring, and always involve the exact same pattern.”
He told how he gets to “wake up from these horrific nightmares,” but the viewers of the show “aren’t so lucky” and said ABC needs to take the show off the air.
Morgan said: “Every day is like that for them — a relentless assault on their eardrums from a bunch of partisan obsessives competing with each other over who detests Trump most.”
He said he “laughed out loud” when co-host Sunny Hostin remarked that Trump’s win has everything to do with “cultural resentment” in America.
Morgan added: “Trump’s win had everything to do with policy, especially on the economy and immigration, and the people most aggressively fueling cultural resentment have been the hosts of ‘The View,’ whose insufferably woke worldview just got repudiated in spectacular fashion.”
He also lashed out at Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who has become a loud critic of the president-elect in recent years after previously serving in his administration.
Morgan added: “As for shameless flip-flopper Alyssa, who revealed on Election Day she voted for a Democrat for the first time in her life, she declared Trump was ‘the most dangerous man to have ever sat in the American presidency.’ Oh, whatever,” Morgan sniped. “It’s precisely that kind of hyperbolic, apocalyptic nonsense, along with saying he’s the new Hitler, that drove so many undecideds to vote for Trump.”

Morgan supported Trump following his winning 2008 appearance on The Celebrity Apprentice.
But he slammed then-president in 2020 over his remarks at a Covid-19 pandemic press conference that “ingesting” disinfectant could be a potential cure for the virus, saying his claim was “batshit crazy.”
He also said Trump showed himself to be “mentally unfit” to remain president following the January 6 Capitol attack and his handling of the pandemic and incitement of an insurrection made him regret supportting him.
The two fell out after Trump was interviewed by Morgan on his British TV show TalkTV and the host later claimed Trump “stormed out” over his tough questioning.
At the time Trump declared Morgan “dead” to him,” but he later made up with the broadcaster.
